Another hardcore day

It is another hardcore day for us, but we seem like enjoy these hardcore days very much. The main purpose for us to meet today is to gossip. Ops, CORRECTION! Is to continue on our 2nd product. Well, in order to make sure everyone participate in this activity and make our life earsier, we have a small competition.

Dongmei did not participate in this lame competition as we only need to saw 4 of the rolls. So, she act as a fixer in this like what is showing in the pictures above. Saw ah saw... And this come to the end of the process. Very sad to announce that the male contestant had totally fail in this. Our superwoman-- Vanesa, once again prove her super position in our group.

Eddie tried to be the superman in our group. But, he failed and a bit emo. ^^ This not stopping him from continue leading our group to another product.

Exhausted for the whole day on Wed, we still continue our work today. We just don't want to stop and rush at last minute, so everyone was insist to continue it. Same as last week, finish class at 12pm, we went to our working place (Eddie's house).

There are some remaining cardboard tubes, so we decided to make a table, it will be a set of furniture for our product. yipee~~
This table is just a dummy one, we will screw and stick it off on our next working session.

Cooperation is really important when we work as a team. We really appreciate to get in a good team, everyone is willing to put effort, and we always get full attendance of 5 members in any discussion, meeting and working session. Yeah! Let's continue with such spirit^^

The 'birds' and 'owls' for the day

Yesterday, everyone was like a bird in the morning and become an owl at night, non-stop for the whole day @_@ Early in the morning, we have 8am class until 12pm. After that, we actually planned to start our work, but there was a career fair and we are encouraged to go. So, we went for it and attended a talk, took our lunch and around 3pm something only we went Eddie's house to start our Sofa work.

G-FORCE members are really initiative. Leader don't need to delegate works but we ourselves will find some work to do. GOOD!! Let's see what's our position...

Trying & fixing

As we had made our discussion last Friday, so we bring some tools for today's work. Today is Tuesday, so we just used our 4 hours break to make a try. Ee Von has brought lots of tools along as well as Venasa as only 2 of us are living at our home sweet home, so we able to get some usable tools from our house.

For today, Venasa got and brought along somemore cardboard tubes again from a printing company. Our raw material have increased and we could really get it FOC from those printing shop, this eventually decreases the cost for our product. Since some tubes had being sawn, so Venasa was actually using a tool (we called it as 'kikir' in Malay) to smoothen the edge of the tube; Eddie was drilling, (the drilling worker^^); while Ee Von was testing and trying to fix up a dummy model.


This photos looks funny. First in mind as illustrate, Eddie was like instructing Venasa and Ee Von but end up no one listen to him so he feel unhappy and went away. haha!! DON'T DON'T DON'T!! DON'T misunderstood oh!! The real situation was not like what the photos illustrated, just to happen when photos were taken@@ G-FORCE is very peaceful one =D

So we got to fix up a dummy one. Hmmm.. Stable! Not bad what XD

So we stack up all the tubes for illustration purpose. It easier us to give comment. Hmm... 2 under layers. Why just 2 layers up from the floor? This is UAE's residents style. They like their sitting to be as low as nearly reach the floor, as you know, Arabian like to use carpet right??
So our design is actually to suit their lifestyle and culture. So the next problem we were discussing was should we put a handle?? Pending...

After they trying, everyone was actually following. Haha!! You can hear the sound like you are at another planet.. lol

Discussion

Well, we held our second discussion after the Good start >>>, during the 4 hours break at library! First of all, we are not hardworking. It is just because that we are been forced, we have to show our first draft of written assignment to out dear miss.

We did some preparation as the jobs are been distributed few days before. And again, it is a quite nice and harmony discussion for our group. We just did some few edit on the objectives and the missions of our lovely green products. Although this part is majority done by our leader, Mr Eddie.

After that, we contributed and discuss about our PEST which Political done by Eevon, Economic part by Huanyik, Social by Dong Mei and Technology part by Vanesa. The process seems like going smooth and easy. Eevon, our secretary then combine all our hard work. Together with the Michael Porter's Five force, before we show it to our lecturer.

Conclusion of today's work, it is basically accept by lecturer but most of us think that our written assignment is not good enough. Therefore, we plan to edit it again and discuss it again in the coming discussion section.

Good start >>>

Well, today is really a good start for us. Starting to group for assignment and be more familiar among each other. Everyone of G-FORCE was staying for this 'green product' assignment after class. wOw!! ok! nonsense please run far far away @@lll

After class for today, it was around 12pm. So, as we decided, we separated some easy job and gathered at Eddie's house lately. The process?? hmmm... just some illustration from those photos...
Once upon a time... ... X.X
Everyone's job is: Venasa fetch Eddie and bring boxes along to his house; Ee Von fetch Dongmei's to her house to collect those heavy cardboard tubes; Huan Yik drove to Dongmei's house to help to carry those heavy cardboard tubes and put in the car. Then we all headed and gathered at Eddie's house for discussion. ermm... not important right? @_@

What's next??
Move everything into Eddie's house... Cardboard tubes from Ee Von's car... Everyone seems enjoy to carry hor??! ^^ Ee Von was so 'good' to 'sacrifice' herself to be the photographer.. If not no photos will be shown.. haha!!

As we didn't bring any tools for the day, so we just did some brainstorm about our sofa.
Manually, we stack those cardboard tubes for illustration and idea. The hall is so hot but you can see that G-FORCE is so spirit!! Everyone looks like the future decor designer. lol...

erm... Huan Yik was medidating.. lol.. The sofa is cool right?!

bla bla bla... Discussing quite a lot of matter before we really want to start our work next week.

After that, Huan Yik (the driver) fetch us to some printing shops nearby (SS15) where Eddie and Huan Yik was requesting for cardboard tubes on Monday. We managed to get 8 more rolls for today. Hooray!! While is time to treat our stomach, we headed to McD for lunch and discuss about the written assignment.

Happy, peaceful, enjoyable... ... discussion for today! Nice work yea G-FORCE^^

Change of design

Today, we were having a discussion session in class. Our leader suggested us to change a bit the design of our sofa as we preferred before.

Before, we prefered a normal sofa as shown in the previous post, photo 3 and 4 (counted from up to down), but now we gonna change a bit but still the style with those recycle cardboard tube.

So why suddenly there is a change? Reason is the leader. Eddie has actually known some middle east friends as well, so he has got some idea and suggestion from them for the task. He got the idea from those friends that actually middle east people don't like 'high', means they like to stick to the floor instead of sitting high high away from the floor like us. That's why we can see and know that they love carpet a lot!! They can even take their meal on the floor by putting a piece of cloth instead of sitting on the chair and take it on a table...

After discussing, we would like to make our design to suit their lifestyle - stick and near the floor^^ So, our design probably will be lower/shorter, and the side for lying one will also be shorten as they feel comfortable to the height just until or at about the waist.

We know it is hard to imagine when we describe just in words. Maybe we will make some draft and show it lately over here =D

Our IDEA

This post should actually be posted earlier as we started our brainstorming at first, but at that time, this blog was not born yet. Hehe! So we would like to show our idea of sofa we found from net before, and share with you all^^

the modern one, really impressed us at first, but the support for the seat is the matter we considered...

some more, Dongmei also suggested this design before, called it as lazy sofa.

Getting a lot of idea when went through those photos, we will modify for our own one based on those idea, hope we are on the right track to target the middle east.
